Horse Riding - Reading
We transport and support young people to participate in horse riding and equestrian sessions at local riding centres — structured, therapeutic activities that promote physical wellbeing, confidence, emotional development, and positive social interaction. These sessions are tailored to individual interests, abilities, and experience levels, ensuring that each young person can engage in a safe, supportive, and meaningful experience.
Whether it’s learning basic riding techniques, building confidence while handling horses, or developing riding skills in the arena or countryside, our role is to encourage participation, enjoyment, and personal achievement within a calm and supervised environment.
Horse riding sessions support:
Physical wellbeing and coordination – riding helps develop balance, posture, core strength, coordination, and motor skills. The physical activity involved also promotes overall fitness, body awareness, and endurance.
Confidence and self-esteem – learning to ride, care for, and communicate with horses encourages a sense of achievement, responsibility, and growing self-confidence.
Emotional wellbeing and regulation – spending time with horses can have a calming and therapeutic effect, helping young people develop patience, emotional awareness, self-control, and resilience.
Social interaction and communication – participating in riding lessons encourages positive interaction with instructors and peers, supporting communication skills, cooperation, and respectful behaviour.
Responsibility and independence – caring for equipment, listening to guidance, and progressing through riding tasks at an individual pace promotes independence, decision-making, and personal responsibility.
Focus and concentration – riding requires attention, listening, coordination, and following instructions, supporting cognitive engagement and the development of concentration skills.
All sessions are delivered with careful planning, appropriate risk assessments, and supportive supervision that respects individual needs and abilities. Our aim is to create enriching opportunities that promote wellbeing, confidence, and personal growth through positive and engaging equestrian experiences.
