As a Personal Assistant (PA), you will provide 1:1 tailored support to individuals with diverse needs (including SEND, autism, or additional support needs), helping them to live independently and engage meaningfully in daily activities.
A typical day as a Personal Assistant (PA) with TK inclusive support, varies and is rewarding, focused on supporting individuals to live as independently and confidently as possible.
Transition 1:1
You may begin the day by helping an individual establish a calm and structured routine, supporting them in getting ready for a new school, college, work, or daily activities while encouraging independence. The role also involves building confidence, encouraging participation, and supporting the development of life, social, and communication skills.
Personal Assistant
You would provide patient and understanding support during challenging moments, using positive behaviour strategies and responding calmly to emotional or behavioural needs. Throughout the day, you may accompany individuals to appointments, shopping trips, social outings, educational sessions, or recreational activities. Accurate record keeping, communication with families or professionals, and following safeguarding procedures are an important part of ensuring each individual’s wellbeing and safety.

Salary: £12–£15 per hour (depending on experience)
Reporting To: Service Manager / Director
Key Responsibilities
Personal Support

Assist with daily living activities (where required)

Promote independence, dignity, and choice

Support with routines, structure, and emotional wellbeing
Community Engagement

Accompany individuals to activities (e.g., school runs, social outings, appointments)

Encourage participation in community-based activities

Support development of social and life skills
Behaviour & Wellbeing

Implement positive behaviour support strategies

Provide calm, consistent, and safe support

Recognise and respond appropriately to emotional needs
Household Support (where applicable)

Light domestic duties (meal prep, tidying, organisation)

Support individuals in developing independent living skills
Record Keeping & Communication

Maintain accurate daily records and notes

Communicate effectively with families, carers, and professionals

Follow safeguarding and reporting procedures
Person Specification
Essential:

Experience supporting children, young people, or adults with additional needs

Caring, patient, and empathetic nature

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and use initiative

Flexible and reliable
Desirable:

Experience with SEND, autism, or behavioural support

Relevant qualifications (Health & Social Care, Support Work, etc.)

Driving licence (preferred but not essential)
